They were one of the first makers (in the USA) of the track skid steer. That probably helped to put them under. When I was selling and demoing the Hydra-Mac,(late 80's) I had no concerns selling against any of the competition unless a Case 1845C showed up. Then I knew I had to sharpen my pencil or put the ramps back down.. True Cummins Power. Heres my biggest problem. I store my skid on the trailer. So it goes like this. Empty the dump. Hook up the trailer. Tske the skid off. Dig out the attachment from the back of the yard. Load it on. Load the skid back on the trailer. Go to job. Dig for 30 mins. Do it all over again. Or Grab a shovel/ rent a mini I t works beside our 2.5 yd wheel loader and does fine. If i was hogging dirt all day, taki 140 or 259 cat. In my case the smaller frames do great, had a big skid starting out and the smaller track loaders work out a lot better, plus if i need something bigger I grab the wheel loader. hope that helps We do a lot of small lots here on Vancouver island, most lots run from .07 to .25 acres within the city so full sized skid isn't really always practical. It seemed like the cleanup and damage the bobcat or mini ex would do, along with tight spots that still needed hand work anyway wasn't really worth it to get a machine in.

Everybody here seems to hate T190s, but I think it is a overall good landscaping skid steer. They are rough riding and the bobcat standard controls are not as comfortable as pilots, but they will get the job done. The parts for the undercarriage can be bought CHEAP. tracks are 0 a piece and sprockets are 0 a piece. not bad prices. I like a 16 or 18' trailer for my skid . I also like a bumper pull because you can still load the bed of the truck . The trailer i use now is a 12000lb Ringo 16' drop axel with 5' drop down ramps . I would like to pull my skid and mine X on one trailer but i . Worth every penny and then some. We have an S250 Bobcat. Good machine, love the 2-speed. It comes in more handy than you may think. Obviously not moving material across a lawn, but it is nice when moving around a job-site. The most beneficial aspect to us is for snowplowing.
